Chairman's Welcome

Salisbury Tennis Club is the longest established and largest tennis club in Salisbury. The club is friendly, welcoming and has a strong family atmosphere. Whether you enjoy social tennis with friends and family, want to play at local, county, regional or even national level, enjoy match play or simply want a welcoming tennis-friendly place to hang out and enjoy the game, Salisbury Tennis Club is the place for you.
We have a diverse membership of approx. 140 adults and 170+ juniors with ages ranging from our youngest mini -red players aged 4 to our oldest member who is over 80. We understand that everyone’s reason to join a tennis club is different as are their standards and aspirations and we hope you’ll agree, we try to cater for all of them.
We have an active year round tennis calendar and run a range of fun and competitive events but we are always looking to improve and listen to new ideas so feel free to talk to the coaching team or anyone on the club committee and put your ideas forward.
Our contemporary club house offers wonderful social facilities including ladies and gents changing rooms with showers, coaches’ office, modern kitchen, licensed bar and spacious relaxation area with television. The club house conveniently offers a panoramic view of most of our 9 courts.
Every year we hold a number of competitive events, some are open and others are just for club members. In July we are delighted to hold our Salisbury Junior Open Tournament that attracts junior players from all over the country. The many tennis leagues, ladders, box leagues, club evenings, teams and tournaments offer competitive play throughout the year and our very popular floodlit league starts in October through to March giving members of all levels the opportunity to play in team-based social play throughout the winter.
Social events are also a big part of our club. Events are added and promoted through the year, by poster in the club house, on the website homepage and by email. So keep an eye on the website and the notice board and make sure we have your email address so you don’t miss any events.
We have an enviable coaching team headed by Lee Mahony offering tailored individual and group coaching for juniors and adults alike. Our junior programme gives youngsters the opportunity to maximise their tennis potential whether it be at club or national level. The programme also gives juniors a chance to acquire skills that will stay with them for life.
So whatever your tennis ambition – welcome to the club.
