Mens Captain of 25 years stands down Roger Witt stood down having been Men's captain for 25 years. In the Hampshire and Isle of Wight league ran both "A" and "B" teams which was quite unusual however he felt it was easier to swap players at last minute rather than tell the other captain to find someone. In the 242 matches he selected 90 "A" players and 118 "B" players. He led the "A" into Division 1 for the first time in the 1999 season, and ended as the only surviving player from that team in the Champsionship winning 2018 team. Entry to the Southampton Winter league in 2003 saw the "A" and "B" formula again covering 164 matches and 149 players. It can be a great efforet to run a team let alone 2 teams over 25 years. Thank you Roger.
