The Kirk Moore Salisbury Junior Open sponsored by Harnham.com
A word from our Sponsor:
When I joined Salisbury Tennis Club in the mid 1980’s, Kirk was already one of the best junior tennis players the club had ever produced - he was playing and winning county tournaments and duelling with one of his good friends Andrew Cumper for the county’s number one ranking.
He modelled his serve on the great John McEnroe and a touch that John himself would have been very proud of.
Not only did Kirk add to the club’s strong depth in talent helping the men’s teams win and progress through various leagues, he was also one of its brightest characters with a smile for everyone and an incredible zest for life.
Whenever I think of Kirk, I remember him smiling and laughing hysterically, normally whilst we were all enjoying our weekends sat on a grassy bank watching tennis, playing tennis and eating home-cooked food served by another great friend of us all, the sadly missed Adrian Ellis.
They were the best summers of my life and I think it would be safe to say the same for Kirk, as he always seemed most at home and relaxed when he was either on or near a tennis court.
Kirk is sadly missed by all who knew him and everyone at Salisbury Tennis Club; however, we are thankful for the time he spent with us and the joy and happiness he shared with us.
